Winter Make-up

With winter comes the need to look your best. Colors such as coffee, mahogany, burgundy, berry, and Mocha replace the summer pastels and frost shades. Deep purple, grey’s, moss green blended with sheer silver, gold, copper and platinum hues dominate the fashion circuits in the winter months. Glitter and gloss are an all time buy for stuffing your own make-up bag. The citrus and spicy tones of make-up are all the rage during the chilly months of winter.

Foundation:
I recommend that you use a mat finish foundation during the winter. Either your foundation or your moisturizer must have an adequate SPF to block the harmful UV rays of the California sun. Even though it is winter, you can still get sun damage on your tender face if you are skipping the sunscreen.

Eyes:
The smoky look for the party season is evergreen. You can blend shades of green , purple, mocha, or blue colors to get a perfect smoky effect. Use silver, champagne or golden hues for the more subtle look. Remember to wear a nude lipstick and blush with the dark Smokey eye effect.
Black mascara and or false lashes work wonders for your eyes during the winter months with eyeliners in black, dark blue, dark purple, and browns.

Yes on Glitter:
The glitter effect on the body can be amazing. Mix your favorite small grain glitter with your best /favorite body lotion and apply it all over your body. Don’t forget, body or face, not both!

Rouge:
Rich and creamy shades are the shades you want for the winter season. You can opt for rich pinks, browns, reds and coppers to get an instant glamorous look.

Lips!!!!!
Try Vitamin enriched lipsticks and glosses with built in moisturizers for the winter. Chapped and peeling lips are not appealing! Shades such as red, mahogany, caramel, coffee, mocha, wine and burgundy are a hit throughout this season. A lip liner is a must with darker colors, not only keep your lipstick on longer but also define and help with a “perfect” lip look. Try dabbing lip gloss in the middle of your lips for a sizzling sparkle.

Fragrances:
Spicy aromas like cinnamon and woody scents are truly mystifying for winter.

Nails:
No winter make-up routine is complete without perfectly polished nails. Out with the pail colors and in with the darks! Try dark reds, burgundy, browns, and rust. And don’t forget to moisturize your hands regularly.

With these simple make-up tips you are sure to Rock the party and sail gracefully through the winter months with ease.
